About JCR

Over View

JCR is the professional organization of rheumatologists comprised of some 9,000 medical doctors and researchers in all major scientific and hospital institutions of rheumatology in Japan. Members include practicing physicians, research scientists, and academic scholars.

JCR provides professional education for its members through various venues. The Annual Scientific Meeting, held every spring, is the premier scientific meeting devoted to the rheumatic diseases. This meeting draws thousands of rheumatologists and researchers throughout Japan and from around the world.


Aims

The aims of JCR are to explore the pathogenesis, and to improve the treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal diseases, thereby reducing the burden of rheumatic diseases on the individuals and society.

To this end, JCR fosters excellence in education and research in the field of rheumatology. It promotes basic science and clinical research, and the translation of research advances into daily care and fights for the recognition of the needs of people with musculoskeletal diseases.

Annual Meeting

JCR organizes annual scientific meeting, which covers the broad spectrum of the rheumatic diseases, international rheumatology symposium, central and regional educational courses, special interest group sessions and state of the art lectures.

Journal

JCR publishes Modern Rheumatology (MR), the official journal of Japan College of Rheumatology, the premier scientific journal for research in the rheumatic diseases. MR is indexed in MEDLINE and articles published in MR are readily available for quotation globally.

JCR welcomes new members from Asia and Pacific region, in addition to Europe and Americas.
